Leaving Buenos Aires are over several things, first of all no more rich and cheap meals, no more accommodation in hostels and it's over wifi, which significantly limited the update of our adventure.
Day 4.
We left very early to have Buquebus , after running through the streets of Buenos Aires to arrive on time, and then running to purchase tickets and check-in, we access the ferry crossing from Buenos Aires to Colonia in Uruguay , proved a very pleasant experience as the Eladia Isabel was a huge boat ( barely felt the movement ) that had a shop, bars and even pinball machines, however, after walking the movement cunĂstico beat us, and we were given before sleep, woke up just before reaching to Cologne.
In Cologne migration went through more than expeditiously, in fact Ms. us said
- " have luggage? "
- " bikes only"
- "ah and then go out with her " ... nothing more comfortable.
In Cologne terminal take a bus which allowed us to bring the bike armed to Montevideo.
Here is a big difference Buenos Aires and Montevideo that not only is tiny, but their blocks are small and the buildings as if they had been compressed, like a normal building were compressed to attain their small blocks ... First dissatisfaction the food was expensive and bad, nothing to do with Baires ... we visited the center looking for where to stay and nothing.
There was cheap, there were no hotels ... After wandering a while Paula came to think it was because our paints and the fact the bike ride, in the end we were approached by a colorful character on a bike and recommended a place. Thus we come to
Hotel Montevideo , smelled old and the palette of brown-green tones typical of what was fashionable and in the 60's, people just say, very kindly provided the garage to leave the bike The room was simple, the bathroom was weird, because apparently they often do not use tub but the shower over the bath space and a drain hole, eye, no mistake, it was not poverty, and then check elsewhere as this is common.
Then we discovered that the reason for the shortage of rooms was due to Carnival, so we spent most of the afternoon watching a few blocks away ( was not very spectacular, I must admit, however, is a landmark in the city )
One of the few
Montevideo riquillas
Then eat something, a bad Pizza ( worse than those of Santiago ) and a lasagna that seemed fun of how small it was ...
Day 5.
This was the day strolling through Montevideo, thanks to its small size is ideal to tour by bike or on foot, walked through the old city, which is very nice, we ate a rich and expensive food the market, taking pictures and then walked up to this city, which left us a memory as Valparaiso, and in others he showed as an average city Caribbean ... Hence the Ramblas , which is known as the street that surrounds the coastal zone and beaches, the beaches of Uruguay are beautiful, and here a second dissatisfaction : nature is cruel in Uruguay, and simply that the men are rich and mines are ugly, nothing to do ... only rely on the idea ( sold by advertising) that in Punta del Este would not.
Palacio Salvo, Plaza de la Independencia
evening we went to the Casino de Montevideo ( what else is in Uruguay are Casinos ) and we won as a 15 lucas, so we went to celebrate and take a Chelita to the old city, from there a taxi to the hotel and welcomed us, to know the city, and we told the taxi driver (who was new ) and reach the hotel, and "talk well "lol I must be the worst speech Chile, still liked our accent.
Day 6.
We got up early and we had to ride to Atlantis , distant as 50 miles from where we were, most of the day touring the huge Rambla along the coast (about 20 miles easily ) to having a small problem overweight bikes, anything that could not be resolved in a pump that was out there ... from there the route took us through Ciudad de la Costa, a sick ugly urbanization did not even have paved roads, except the Highway, so we had to keep on the shoulder ...
So we got to Salinas, where we ate some delicious noodles in a cheap place that did not charge "covered ( in Uruguay will charge separately for the right to sit at the table, and many places charge separately vat) ... and continue until a kindly police ordered us to take the caleteros to enter the city of Atlantis , fortunately we found a nice place fast enough, and it was night, we were hungry and wanted to sleep.
